Physiotherapist Dorothy Smith (Berwick) has experience treating a wide range of injuries and conditions, including:

  • Back and Neck Pain
  • Orthopedic and spine injuries
  • Workplace injuries

Dorothy has experience with manual therapy, electrotherapy, exercise plans, and education to provide a comprehensive and individualized treatment plan for each patient. She has practiced at several clinics and hospitals, including CBI Langford in Victoria, Eagle Ridge Hospital in Port Moody, CBI Saanich, Holy Family Hospital in Vancouver, and St. Paul’s Hospital, Vancouver. She also has experience at Lions Gate Hospital.

After earning a Bachelors of Science in Biology from the University of Alberta, Dorothy earned a Masters of Physical Therapy from the University of British Columbia. She has further training in manual therapy, musculoskeletal conditions and sports injuries. She is a member of the Physiotherapy Association of British Columbia and the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. She is a First Aid and Automated External Defibrillator Instructor.

Growing up on the North Shore, Dorothy swam competitively with the Cruisers Swim Club. As a swim instructor and lifeguard for the North Vancouver Recreation Commission, she worked for seven years with all age groups teaching swimming, lifesaving and first aid. As a volunteer, she worked with the North Shore Special Olympics swim team, at numerous summer camps and with Team 2010 at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games. She enjoys kayaking, biking, hiking, hockey, and sailing, as well as training for triathlons.
