Neck Pain: Physiotherapy, Medication or a Chiropractor?
Published on August 18, 2020

Nearly 75 percent of people get neck pain at some point in their life. Often neck pain goes away after a few days, but for many people, neck pain lingers and can severely affect their life, work and quality of life. Do you suffer from neck pain and don’t know what to do or who to see? According to new research published in the Annals of Internal Medicine, the best treatment for neck pain is physiotherapy.

It suggests that just two sessions with a physiotherapist relieves neck pain more effectively than relying on medication, and is just as effective as 12 weeks of treatment with a chiropractor. The study results confirmed that the research groups who received physiotherapy showed the greatest improvements in range of motion compared to the groups who received pain medication or who saw a chiropractor. Additionally, massage therapy can assist in the healing process and is often used in conjunction with physiotherapy.

Our specialized physiotherapists can diagnose your neck pain and prescribe treatment tailored to your individual needs, including:

  • Manual therapy called spinal mobilization and manipulation
