Sleeping

Good sleep posture can help reduce morning stiffness and pain. Being aware of your sleeping position, mattress and pillow are some simple changes you can make to improve your posture.

It is recommended that you sleep on your side or back as sleeping on your stomach will cause the lumbar to overextend and the neck to over-rotate. Stretching tight muscles and strengthening weaker ones will also help improve posture.

A good mattress will need to have good support for your heavy points, such as the shoulders and hips. Most mattresses will experience sagging in these places. To reduce mattress sagging, you can rotate and flip your mattress monthly. This will distribute your weight evenly around the mattress and prevent one spot from becoming saggy. For pillows, choose feather rather than foam to better support the neck.
